Embedded passives within PCB boards are not a new concept and have been around for over a decade. The traction within the marketplace is slowly increasing due to reliability demands placed on solder joints.
To achieve superior reliability and eliminate the solder joint entirely, Pyralux® APR and Interra® HKO4 products can embedded resistors and capacitors, respectively, into a pair of planes within PCB. Using existing PCB manufacturing steps, most fabricators can handle either material set.
